- I would return to the Voya Beach Resort

Voya Beach Resort (Sveti Vlas, Bulgaria)
I spent one week at Voya Beach Resort in Bulgaria from July 7th to 14th, 2025.
The Voya Beach Resort is an ultra all-inclusive hotel, offering 24/7 food and drinks as well as full access to the spa. The resort was also awarded “Best Hotel in Bulgaria 2024”. I booked my holiday through Sunweb.
Overall, my impression was positive. The hotel is new and clean, and the service was professional and attentive.
That said, I wouldn’t return, as the resort is primarily aimed at families with young children, and the activities for adults were limited. While family hotels often offer extensive sports fields and adult activities, this wasn’t the case at Voya Beach Resort.
Strongest points:
- The hotel was new, with nice and clean rooms.
- The sauna and gym were small but sufficient, and they were never too crowded, making them easy to use.
- The buffet was enjoyable, particularly the salad bar, which was top-notch.
Weakest points:
- There was a lack of entertainment for adults — no sports fields and only one adult swimming pool, which was small and shallow.
- The beach and the sea were somewhat disappointing, and there was a slight odor at times. The Black Sea isn’t the most visually appealing destination for swimming.
- Additionally, the pool areas were noisy due to the many families and children, which made it harder to relax.
BULGARIA
Voya Beach Resort is located in Sveti Vlas, Bulgaria. Why did I choose Bulgaria as my destination? Two main reasons:
First, it’s becoming too hot to travel to African or Asian countries in the summer months (July and August), and usual destinations like Morocco, Turkey, and Tunisia no longer feel appealing in the peak of summer.
Second, Eastern Europe is developing as a tourism destination, and I wanted to support European countries during these challenging economic times.
ALL INCLUSIVE
- Price: 2.072 € for one person in a double room,
- Dates: from the 7th to the 14th of July 2025 (8 days, 7 nights).
Flights and transfers were included in the package. The flight was from Brussels (Zaventem Airport) to Burgas Airport in Bulgaria and lasted approximately 2 hours and 40 minutes.
The airport-to-hotel transfer is an optional extra that can be booked through Sunweb during checkout — an option I always choose and highly recommend. The transfer from Burgas Airport to Voya Beach Resort took around 50 minutes, with the bus making several stops at other hotels to drop off and pick up guests on the return journey.

WIFI
The Wi-Fi worked very well and was available throughout the hotel — in the rooms, around the pools, and in the restaurants.
FOOD
- BUFFET RESTAURANT
The buffet restaurant offered good, varied food, and the cooks prepared everything properly. I especially enjoyed the salad bar, which featured a wide selection of fresh vegetables.
It would be easy to follow a vegetarian diet for a week without any issues.
The restaurant had both indoor and outdoor seating, conveniently located right next to the pools.
- SNACKBAR
There was a 24/7 snack bar, but the selection wasn’t particularly impressive — nothing special, and honestly, a bit disappointing.
ACTIVITIES
There was a lack of activities for adults, as the resort was clearly geared toward families with young children.
SWIMMING POOLS
There’s a very large outdoor pool for families and kids, with plenty of activities. It was so crowded with children at times that the water took on an unappealing color.
For younger guests, there are a few water slides.
There is a smaller pool dedicated to adults, but the water wasn’t heated and felt quite cold in the mornings.
Additionally, there are two shallow pools near the sauna, mainly designed for children.

BEACH
The hotel has a private beach, but I wasn’t particularly impressed. Voya Beach Resort is located on the Black Sea, which isn’t the most attractive for swimming. The sea carries a heavy historical legacy from the Soviet era, having been used for military ports and heavy industry, so who knows what lies at the bottom.
There was also a lot of algae in the water, which made it uninviting. I ended up spending my time around the pool rather than swimming in the sea — a bit disappointing overall.
SPA & GYM
The spa was included in the all-inclusive package.
It’s small but functional, featuring two saunas, a Turkish bath, and two small pools. The pools were often crowded with children, so it wasn’t particularly relaxing — though that’s to be expected at a family-oriented hotel. Many guests were unfamiliar with spa etiquette, so staff had to supervise the area at times.
The spa and gyms were clean and well-maintained, though they lacked a real “wow” factor. There were two small gyms: one for cardio equipment like bikes and treadmills, and another with standard strength machines. Both served their purpose adequately.
ROOMS
The room was really nice — modern and clean, with a large, comfortable bed. The air conditioning worked very well, and the TV was positioned conveniently to watch from the bed, though international channels were limited or nonexistent.
Some weaker points included the lack of paper tissues and slightly basic amenities.
The room also had a small terrace, which was perfectly adequate.
