Sunweb
I searched for one-week holiday packages under €1,000, including flights and all-inclusive accommodation. I decided to book with Sunweb again, as they appear to be the most competitively priced tour operator for all-inclusive holidays departing from Brussels.
I used the following search criteria on the Sunweb website:
- 4 or more stars
- 8+ review
- All inclusive
- Hotel located at the beach
Two options met my criteria: Hotel Grand Belish Beach Resort & Spa in Kuşadası, Turkey, and Hotel Golden Donaire Beach — both were under €1,000, all-inclusive.

Kusadasi vs Costa Daurada
I compared both cities on the following criteria: i compared the
- temperature
- hours of sunlight
- water temperature
- hotel facilities
- time of flight
- reviews
- duration of transfert (airport to hotel)
Hotel Grand Belish won the comparison.
Finally, I checked my weather app on Sunday 7th September to take my final decision.

Hotel Grand Belish Beach Resort & Spa (Kusadasi, Turkey)
POSITIVE points
- the hotel is close to the beach
NEGATIVE POINTS
- The hotel feels worn out and is in urgent need of refurbishment.
- The service is overly laid-back, almost lazy — it seems as though the staff have lost their motivation to deliver top-quality service. Employees were on their phones during their shift.
- Breakfast offers limited variety, especially when it comes to pastries and healthy cereals — there were no nuts, almonds, or similar options.
- The spa isn’t particularly inviting; it’s located underground, lacks natural sunlight, and feels somewhat dark and unwelcoming. The spa employees also appeared a bit awkward.
- Even the warm dishes were often served cold.

Flights and Transfer
The flight from Brussels (Belgium) to İzmir Airport (Turkey) took 3 hours and 40 minutes, but it was delayed by one hour. Upon arrival in İzmir, we had to queue for about 30 minutes at border control.
The transfer to the hotel took around two hours. The bus driver wasn’t familiar with the location of the hotel, which caused an additional 15-minute delay.
Arrival
The first room I was given had two single beds instead of the double bed I had requested. It also had an unpleasant smell, as did the corridor outside.
The staff changed my room immediately, but the second one also had a slight odor.
A few minutes later, I heard a drunken guest shouting around the pool, and the hotel staff didn’t make any effort to ask her to quiet down.
Later on the first day, they moved me to a room farther from the hotel’s nightlife area; however, it was located directly in front of the outdoor pool.
The water pressure of the shower was a bit low and there were no water bottles provided in any of the rooms.
WIFI
The Wi-Fi worked well when the hotel occupancy was low, but it became noticeably slower when the hotel was crowded.
It was available throughout the property — in the rooms, restaurants, reception area, and around the pools.
BEACH and SWIMMING POOLS
The beach itself was decent, but the deckchairs were old and dirty, the cushions stained, and the parasols worn out. The lifeguards seemed more focused on their mobile phones than on their duties.
The hotel has two outdoor pools and one indoor pool. The indoor pool, located in the spa, is very small and lacks a cosy atmosphere. None of the pools were heated, which made them virtually unused at this time of year.

SPA and GYM
The gym was small and somewhat outdated.
The spa lacked a cosy atmosphere, and the male staff members seemed to treat it more like their personal space than a guest facility.

Food Buffet
Overall, the food was disappointing.
Breakfast offered very few sweet options, which was underwhelming. The warm dishes were overcooked, lacked variety, and were generally unappealing. The salad bar was passable but nothing special.
